Once you have submitted your information, please wait for a confirmation before sending your $99 refundable deposit. Once you have received a confirmation that you are registered, please send in your $99 refundable deposit and information forms to the B.R.A.K.E.S. office at 4030 Concord Parkway South, Concord NC 28027 . If the school is free why do I need to send in a $99 refundable deposit?
We ask for a $99 refundable deposit to secure your seat. Your check is held until the day of school, where you may either take the check back or leave it with us. All checks left at the end of the school will be considered a contribution and deposited the Monday following the school.
Can I use my credit card for the refundable deposit?
No, we prefer you send us a check, that way no money is coming out of your account. If you do not have checks, please contact us to discuss your options. If you choose to make the deposit with a credit card it will be considered a donation to the B.R.A.K.E.S. Charity and will be non-refundable.
What if I have to cancel my reservation?
If you are cancelling a class; we must be notified by phone or email before 8:30 AM, EST the Wednesday before your Saturday AM/PM or Sunday AM/PM class. The refundable deposit will be kept by B.R.A.K.E.S. as a donation for any cancellations made by phone or email after 8:30 AM, EST on the Wednesday before your class date.
What are the age and driving requirements for the school?
Our school is designed for teenagers (aged 15-19) who already have their learner’s permit or driver’s license and at least thirty hours of driving experience.
Why do you require a parent to attend the school with their teen?
The teen’s parent or legal guardian is required to attend the school for several reasons. B.R.A.K.E.S. feels it is important for parents to take an active role in their teen’s driver education. By providing parents the opportunity to experience both the classroom and driving portions of the school, we hope you will be able to guide your teen’s driving long after they leave the school. A second reason the teen’s parent or legal guardian must attend, is to sign liability and legal waivers required for your teen to participate in the school.
I’m 18 years old or older; do my parents still need to attend the class with me?
Yes, your parent or legal guardian must attend even if you are 18 years or older.
Can a teenager attend more than once?
Due to the high volume of families that are trying to get into the school we do not allow teenagers to go through more than once. We want to provide this opportunity to as many teenagers as possible and therefore try to save the spots for teenagers that have not yet had the opportunity
