Put on The B.R.A.K.E.S., a non-profit 501(c)(3)dedicated to teen safe driving has released the 2012 Teen Pro-Active Driving School Schedule. B.R.A.K.E.S. is scheduled to conduct 76 schools in four states including North Carolina, California, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, training nearly 3,000 teens in 2012. To keep up with the growing demand, B.R.A.K.E.S has doubled the number of schools for 2012.
“I have tried to take my tragedy and turn it into something positive,” said NHRA Top Fuel Racer Doug Herbert. “It has been incredibly rewarding to be able to make a difference and actually be able to save lives through the B.R.A.K.E.S. program. I am sure my boys are proud of what we are doing.”
In 2011, B.R.A.K.E.S. educated and trained 1,488 teens and their parents on the importance of safe and responsible driving. The Teen Pro-Active Driving School held 44 schools in five states including North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, with an outreach in 19 states and 2 countries.

The first 2012 B.R.A.K.E.S. driving program will be held February 4th and 5th at the zMAX Dragway located adjacent to the Charlotte Motor Speedway .

“Everyone at the zMAX Dragway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway have been great. It’s a wonderful facility to hold our Charlotte area schools,” said Herbert. “The support from Marcus Smith and his staff at the speedway has been instrumental in the growth of B.R.A.K.E.S. There is so much that the speedway does for the community and we certainly appreciate them.”
